History

Founded in 1971

The Marshall County Historical Society was founded in 1971 by local history enthusiasts. In 1980, the county was building a new courthouse and was going to tear down the old one. After much negotiation between the county commissioners and the Society the building was given to the Society. The Marshall County Historical Society through donations has maintained this building. It is a museum and research library.
